Jan Cervelli for County Council ("the campaign," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to jancervelli.com and to any text messages, emails, or forms operated by the campaign.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you give us directly, including:
Name, email address, mailing address, and ZIP code
Phone number, if you choose to provide one
Information you include in a message, comment, or volunteer form
Employer and occupation, when required for contribution reporting
Payment information processed by our donation platform
We also collect limited technical information automatically when you visit the site, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and the site you came from. This is used to keep the site working and to understand general traffic patterns.

If you provide your phone number and check the SMS opt-in box, you agree to receive text messages from Jan Cervelli for County Council.

4. Contributions and public reporting
Contributions to the campaign are processed through a third-party payment platform. We do not store your full credit card number.
Indiana law requires campaigns to report contributor information, including name, address, and in some cases employer and occupation, to the appropriate election authority. That reported information becomes part of the public record. This is a legal requirement and is separate from the privacy protections described in this policy.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information only with vendors and service providers who help us operate the campaign, such as our email platform, text messaging platform, website host, and donation processor. These vendors are permitted to use your information only to provide services to the campaign.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. This information will not be shared with any third parties.
We may also disclose information when required by law, when required by campaign finance reporting rules, or when necessary to protect the rights or safety of the campaign or others.
6. Cookies and analytics
The site may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and to measure traffic. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, though some parts of the site may not work as expected if you do.
7. Your choices
Email: Every campaign email includes an unsubscribe link.
Text messages: Reply STOP to any message.
Access or deletion: Contact us at hey@jancervelli.com to request that we correct or remove your information. Information already filed in public campaign finance reports cannot be removed.
8. Children's privacy
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted online.
10. Links to other sites
The site may link to other websites, including our donation platform and social media pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Review their policies directly.
